Why are Anguilla resorts so amazing? When people think about exotic islands, the first things that come to mind are probably the overcrowded beaches and the loud music, the clubs, and the hectic nightlife. It makes one wonder why such islands are advertised as being “quiet resorts” when they are anything but quiet. That’s precisely why Anguilla and its all inclusive resorts are so amazing.

Was there ever a more beautiful, more secluded place in the world?

You can forget the noise, leave behind the overflowing worksheet from the office and come to Anguilla to enjoy a nice, quaint vacation. Far from the world’s troubles, Anguilla vacations spell retreats with no surprises and fun with moderation. On one hand, you’ll never get bored. On the other, you won’t be so busy so to go home more exhausted than when you arrived.

But with all the commotion involved, there may still be one thing that isn’t quite clear yet:

Where Is Anguilla?

Ok, we’ll admit: Anguilla isn’t the most famous tourist destination, and Anguilla resorts have never known the true fame except through the celebrities that often go there to escape the camera eye. The island of Anguilla, officially a British overseas territory, is located in the Caribbean. That much you may have guessed. It’s positioned to the far right area of the sea, towards the greater Atlantic Ocean, north of Venezuela, and east of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

The closest neighbors of Anguilla are three other beautiful Caribbean islands: Saint Martin, Saint Barthelme, and Saba. Anguilla is not made up of a single island, but all the other, much smaller islands or cays are completely uninhabited.

Advantages & Disadvantages of Anguilla Resorts

Anguilla beaches are beautiful. However, what makes them so special? More importantly, are there any reasons why people should avoid the island? It really depends on preferences: do you like quiet places where nobody will disturb you? Then Anguilla is probably for you.

Advantages of Anguilla Resorts

The beautiful Caribbean isle of Anguilla isn’t only famous for its remoteness and quiet, calm beaches, but also for a lot of other luxury treats, including but not limited to:

  • An island in the middle of the ocean. You don’t get more low-key than that. Anguilla all inclusive resorts can arrange transportation to Sandy Island. It’s an improper name since it isn’t an island per-se, but a cay made almost completely out of sand. The only thing that you can find on it is a bar. Fix a drink and then bask in the sun – perfection!
  • The music. Online reviews cannot give more praise to the musicians that Anguilla hotels and restaurants have hired. Some say that because of the island’s openness towards tourism, there has been a mixture of genres that gave birth to a truly unique
  • The lack of traveling. This is a given for most of the beaches of the world – even in the Caribbean. The experience of laying on a beach in a relaxed position can be completely ruined by people trying to sell you things. What reviewers have praised about Anguilla is that because of its low population of tourists, there also aren’t any vendors walking along the beaches.
  • The beautiful beaches. The sand is golden. The sea is that perfect shade of Bahaman blue. What more could anyone want? The people are very polite and the weather is perfect almost all year round. All the requirements of a perfect vacation are there.
  • Peace and relaxation. It’s not a fortress of solitude, but it’s simply incredibly quiet. Judging by the fact that a lot of great celebrities of the world use it as a place of refuge, you can keep your mind off of your work as long as the phone is set on ‘do not disturb.’

Disadvantages of Anguilla Resorts

Given that there are so many amazing things about Anguilla, one can hardly think of bad things to say. Therefore, the following disadvantages aren’t really disadvantages as much as they are specifics that some people may not like.

  • Not that much action. If you’re the type that likes to be the life of the party – Anguilla won’t disappoint. It has its fair share of clubs and parties. However, it’s pretty far from what other mad-nightlife resorts have.
  • Too remote. Although it’s hard to imagine someone disliking this, there are a lot of people who profoundly dislike life outside the big city. If so, Anguilla is not for them. Consider: the biggest city of Anguilla, which is also its capital, is the town of The Valley. It holds no more than about 1,000 people.
  • Few activities. Anguilla doesn’t provide much in the way of entertainment. What you can do is relax on the beach, go snorkeling, go for a boat ride, go on a tour of the island, and sit at the local restaurants and pubs. The biggest Anguilla hotels, however, such as Viceroy Anguilla, may have more in store for its patrons.
  • The prices. There’s a price to pay for absolute privacy. Anguilla resorts understand their customers’ need for a low-key stay and will provide it for you. However, complete solitude will cost a bit more, especially in high-end places like Viceroy.

Examples of Anguilla Resorts

To give you an indication of how a stay at Anguilla is like, we’ve selected three of their most famous resorts and are now presenting them to you. We’ve handpicked these three choices based on online reviews, what their patrons had to say about their visit, and what the overall rating of the hotel was.

Viceroy Anguilla

The best-known hotel on the island is also quite possibly the most expensive one of the whole suite of Anguilla resorts. It offers free parking, a fitness center, a pool, a private portion of the beach, room service, a restaurant, a bar, and free internet. Pet lovers will be delighted to hear that Viceroy is also pet-friendly, meaning that you can take your dog with you.

Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort

Ranked as the second best of the Anguilla hotels, it’s also where people can find the cheapest rates for a hotel room. It’s perfect for honeymoons, and it has free breakfast for all customers, a spa, free parking, a private pool, and a private beach. Pets are also allowed and there’s also a boutique, and a concierge – fancy!

Meads Bay Beach Villas

Meads Bay Beach Villas isn’t a hotel per-se. As the name indicates, it’s a beach villa resort. However, it’s ranked as the first of the Anguilla resorts and hotels. What do they offer? Well – they give a whole house! Two bedrooms, a kitchen, two baths and a half (so three by extension). The prices for these services are great as well. The main disadvantage is that it’s not a hotel.
