Though we found the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino luxurious, its immense size is overwhelming. It is a great spot for a younger crowd and a favorite for guests who are casino players and want to have a great casino within reach. The Hard Rock Casino is the largest in the Dominican Republic, and possibly the Caribbean. While the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real is great for families, and The Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana is ideal for guests who want peace and quiet in a beautiful beach setting. Compared to the other resorts, the beach is not crowded.The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana, like the other resorts listed here, is upscale and all-inclusive. But it stands out from the others because it is a resort for couples, families, and special occasions. It overlooks the beautiful Bavaro Beach, and it has two sections, the family-friendly side, and the adult-only Colonial Club side. Compared to the massive Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is a good size resort, not too large and thus easy to navigate. It has 658 rooms compared to the 1,790 rooms of the Hard Rock resort. Rooms are attractive with a colonial style décor, marble floors, and jetted tubs. The only drawback seems to be the food, which has received mixed reviews. However, most of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive with many guests rating the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana as a 5-star resort.
